Superintendent's
Message
Greetings
and welcome to the Website for the Central Lakes District of the
North Central New York Conference of the United Methodist Church.
The Central Lakes District is one of six districts in the NCNY
Conference. As our name indicates our district embraces the northern
shores of the Finger Lakes region and the southern shores of Lake
Ontario in Central New York. Our most eastern congregation is
located in the City of Syracuse, Onondaga County, and our most
western congregation is located in Farmington, Ontario County.
There are two primary roadways that link our churches. State Route
104 provides access to our churches in northern Cayuga, and Wayne
counties while fifty-seven miles of New York State Thruway connect
the southern churches in Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and Ontario
Counties.
Central
Lakes District is home to 16,300 UM Christians who study and worship
in our 64 congregations. Our churches are served by 50 pastors
and cover the full range of church settings. We have urban, suburban,
town and country ministries that offer Spirit-lead Christ-centered
worship. More information about specific congregations can be
obtained at individual church websites found in our Links menu.
Our
District office is located in the Metcalf Plaza, 144 W. Genesee
Street, suite 404, in Auburn, New York. Our office hours are
Monday - Thursday noon to 4:30 and Friday 7:30 am to 1:30 pm
. The office is staffed by our Administrative
Assistant, Lisa Grinnell and you can reach us by phone (315)-258-0756,
fax (315) 258-0758, or e-mail: centrallakes@verizon.net.
As
we work to perfect our new website we hope you make helpful suggestions
as to how we can best serve your needs spiritual needs here on
the Central Lakes District.
Grace
and peace,
Deborah
